The Common will be one of the featured journals at this year’s Conversations and Connections Conference, held for the first time In Philadelphia, PA. Organized by Barrelhouse, a DC based literary magazine and arts organization, the conference brings together an eclectic mix of writers, editors, and publishers for an all day event of panel discussions, craft workshops, guest speakers, including keynote Stewart O’Nan and featured panelists Ken Kalfus, Paul Lisicky, Don Lee, Katie Ford, Josh Emmons, Laura van den Berg, and Andrew Ervin. Among the other participating journals are Artichoke Haircut, Barrelhouse, the Believer, Big Lucks, StoryQuarterly, Gigantic Sequins, Painted Bride Quarterly, Cobalt, Eyeshot, Philadelphia Stories, Three Quarters Review, and Northville Review.

Join us for “Beyond Geography,” a place-based discussion of the art of fiction with Jennifer Haigh, Hari Kunzru, Jennifer Acker, and Sonya Chung. The Center for Fiction, co-sponsored by The Common.
